The Fragrance Terms You Should Know About

The EDP level doesn’t mean it simply smells amazing since this is mostly associated with the notes. Actually, the EDP will tell you likely how long the cologne should linger on you for. Keep in mind all scents are classified by their concentration percentage. This is the ratio of oils to water/alcohol present in the solution.

Having said that, you should remember that all fragrances are categorized into five concentrations. Here is a quick breakdown of them:

Eau De Perfume

These are concentrations of 20-30% and yes, they are very strong. Actually, these are mostly women’s fragrances, and if they are not, they can sometimes be very overpowering. It is in your best interest to just leave these alone and consider finding other concentrations that can serve you perfectly.

Eau de Parfum (EDP)

EDP Singapore are concentrations of 15-20% typically around 15%. These are the strongest scents which a much longer shelf life. For most men, this is the comfort zone. If you have no idea on the best place to start, a good EDP is always a solid choice.

Eau de Toilette (EDT)

Eau de Toilette commonly abbreviated as EDT are concentrations of 5%-155 typically 10%. These are subtler scents with shelf lives of up to 5 hours after application. Of course, they are certainly worth considering.

Eau de Cologne (EDC)

Eau de Cologne are concentrations of 2-4% typically 5%. These scents are vey weak, Typically, a person would have to be drastically close to you to even detect it, if applied properly of course.

Eau Fraiche (Aftershave)

Last but least is the Eau Fraiche. It is worth mentioning that these have concentrations of 1-3%. These scents are the weakest with shelf lives of less than an hour after application.
